Escape the Zoom

I woke up in a room. I thought what time it was now. I go over to the computer to make sure I'm not missing anything. I log in through a small screen, and squares come together to make an image. I look around to see a ceiling, four walls, and a bed. I am shut in. I must find a way out.

Someone says that they saw something somewhere, which could be a way out. I look around more. I mostly try to act like I'm not doing anything suspicious, in case someone is watching. I look in the mirror to make sure I don't look suspicious, but it's hard to tell. I don't look like myself, and the camera is staring back at me.

The camera starts to move toward the corner of the room, and my eyes follow there, where I suddenly see a message, written to me. When I look closer, someone reaches out and takes the note. I read the note at the same time as they read aloud. They say to themselves that this is something we have to remember.

Meanwhile, I walk around, and I think about the message. I think about how I should do something about it, but I don't remember what. I still need to find a way out of the room. I decide to ask someone about it, but I don't hear a response. Am I still muted?

Suddenly I hear something from outside the room. It sounds like human voices, but I can't make out the words. I look around to see where the noise is coming from, but I don't see anything move. Im the only moving thing.

I take another look at myself. I look more tired than usual, like I want to go outside. I start to forget about the room. But as soon as I start to lose focus, I remember the note, the voices, and my surroundings.

I decide to walk around some more and think about the note. I once felt anxious about it, because it seemed so urgent. But now it feels vague and muted, like the voices from another room. It must be because I'm free now. I am in my room.
